Car stalls at idle after installing new plugs and wires
Hey guys,
I had my uncle replace my stock spark plugs/wires with some Accel U-Groove Plugs and SuperStock 8mm wires. He put them in and started the car up. It runs fine at engine speeds above idle, but if I let it sit on its own in gear, it will stall within a minute. But on the highway it runs fine without any noticeable loss in power. My question is, what is causing this stalling? We accidently knocked out the vacuum line from the brakes to the engine, but reconnected it, is there air in there that is bad or something? Or perhaps my uncle did not gap the plugs (I think he did I am not sure). I also checked all connetions and they are secure, as well as the distributor, which does not rotate(might throw off timing) Any help is greatly appreciated, I dont want to mess up my car as I will be still driving it around with it stalling.

I'm guessing maybe the plugs aren't gapped right...but I'm not sure that I've ever heard of improperly gapped plugs causing stalling. The plugs and wires should if anything make the car idle better not worse.
What's the idle rpms at? Checked fuel pressure? Sure all the vacuum lines are connected properly? Have you thrown a timing light on it just to doublecheck? It doesn't backfire or miss during acceleration, not free-revving, does it?

It does not backfire, the vacuum lines all check out okay. The problem is, how could the timing have been knocked off? The distributor bolt is as tight as can be, should I try to reset my computer?

Don't take this the wrong way but make sure the wires were put on in the correct order and on the same posts as before. If they are in the correct order but one post off then your base timing be off by 12.5º
