Close to 13's w/near stock 305 L69

Went back to Lebanon Valley dragstrip in NY and with the help of a cold front went 14.20
@ 96.74 (60ft=2.02) with a near stock 305.
I should list all my mods since there have been a few over what is in the signature.
Added; Al driveshaft, LCA's and brackets,
BFG DR's, and 1.6 rocker arms. Other than the rocker arms motor has never been touched
(56,000 original miles). Met another third
gener at the strip and we were the first ones
down the track in the morning. Lots of fun,
can't wait till spring.......

Wow, can't get a rise out of anyone on this
topic? I'll make it a question instead of a
statement. What do you think should be my next move to get this car into the 13's ?
I'm favoring headers because the car still
has the original exhaust system except for
gutted cat (16 yrs old!). Traction and 1/8
mile(9.11 @ 76.7) are good so just need to generate a little more HP......

Tom,
I was there with the Chicken... which car were you? I was only expecting Jim85Iroc there and I missed him cause I didn't get there till 11. He's the guy you met, I already yapped with him earlier.
I got AL shaft, lca's, brackets, bfg drags and the best 60's I could get for all my runs were consistent 2.3's.
Anyway, 14.358 was best time, 96.99 was best speed. Best run ruined by flying debris hitting the finish timer before I got there.
Anyway, that's really kick*ss... keep it up. Maybe next time I'll know who you are!
I hear good things about the WP heads. You beat my *ss for sure.

Here's a bad pic of my car:

------------------
'89 Formula - Thunderchicken - 355 Vette L98/T-5/3.45 9-bolt/black/t-tops - the fun car!
'90 GTA - The GTA - 5.0 LB9/TH700/3.27 9-bolt/black/t-tops/tan leather - the cruiser.

Hey Brian I 'm sure we passed each other at
about 10:45 on that little hilly connecting
road from East Chatham over to route 20! I was in the medium blue 84 Z28 and I remember
a black formula going the other way and thinking that guy is kind of late if he is
going to Lebanon! Jim an I did two runs each
at 10:04 and 10:12, BS's for a few minutes,
packed up and left about 10:30.
Time to take the car off the road and start
planning next year strategy for the 13's....

I was stuck behind some dude in a red 80's type Cougar going slow that whole road. Were you being tailed by a Daytona or some other small FWD??
Anyway, I was in the garage at 6am fixing a vacuum leak in the plenum/runners. Stay away from Mr. Gasket plenum/runner gaskets is my advice. Anyway, that's why I was late. I got in 4 runs and left at 4:30.

If my car went any slower, I'd still be trying to get there

I'm looking forward to going there next year though. Even though my runs were miserable, I see a huge potential for ****loads of fun in the future.
