tach jumping
well about a week ago my alternator died and i replaced that and now when i am idling my tach bounces around between 5 and 15. today i replaced the battery and coil and that didnt help at all. any ideas?

What year/engine/fuel system do you have? There was a problem with the tach filters on some of the earlier engines, and there was a TSB on '87 TPIs for a similar problem and the wiring to the distributor.
