Finally Found Fried Fusible Link !!!

Hi,

Sorry to have been so blind, but what I thought was just some excess copper wire poking out from the ring connector was actually the leftover wire from the burned out link. The plastic wire is hollowed out and open, and just the ends of the copper wire near the ring are there. So I FOUND THE BURNT LINK !!! :lala:

The link that burned has 2 orange wires going into the black one inch rubber tube that then becomes a single link. This must be a clue as to what component sent the surge of voltage through the link, right?

Is there a page somewhere that describes how to replace the links? It looks like I have to replace all 3 at the same time since they are one unit with one ring connector. I'm wondering how to remove the old links. Cut? Yank ?

Thanks

:hail: :hail:

Chiltons and Haynes manuals both describe how to replace fuseable links.

I think the orange wires are the ones that feed the high current wires on your fan relays

Take care,
Matt
