Is it OK to put a 350 starter in a 305? I expect that I will be needing a starter soon, and I want to make sure that I get a good one. (Am I correct to assume that the 350 would be a better choice? If for no other reason than that perhaps it wouldn't have to work as hard to turn over a 305?)

I have the LO3 engine.

If anyone can suggest any after market ones, I would appreciate that too.

I believe they're the same starter.
I'm happy with my high torque mini starter. I got it from www.tommyjohnsonjr.com/bs for $128 shipped. I don't believe it's listed on their site but they do still carry it.
