Car wont start, possible blown fusible link, need help

Well this is what happened, i was driving around thursday night for a few hours, I come home turn off the car but leave it on accesory to listen to the end of a song, I forgot to leave a spot for my father to park so i go to start my car and nothing at all it just clicks, i look at my volts and there fine right at 13 i try again nothing. I go and get my brother and a flashlight, pop the hood and try starting it again. This time there is a loud POP and smoke starts pouring out my passanger side wheel well, i get really scared and turn the key off, I look down with the flashlight and one of my starter wires sleeving is melted but the wire is still intact, it looks like it touched the starter though. What i think happened is that the heat from the headers melted the wire then the wire touched the starter blowing out a fusible link, sound right? Anyway how do i tell if a link is blown and how do i replace it? All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
