MAF issues

I think I may have MAF issues. When I start the car(88 iroc 305 lb9) The filament inside does not glow. I am not sure if this supposed to glow though. I get a code 36 as well. I was told to change the MAF relay. How tough is this? Anything else I can to to test this. I am a newby and am teaching myself, tired of paying mechanics. For more info I have another posting titled "de 36/hesitation". Thanks

With a friend behind the wheel, remove the air-filter assembly so you can get a good look into the MAF sensor. Have him turn the car off.... then, you'll want to look inside the MAF to see if she glows.....

Code 36 is pretty common, and since you don't have a Code 33 to go with it, it might just simply be you're PCV valve (might be clogged).

Replace the PCV, then re-set the ECM by disconnecting the batter for about 10 minutes (go get something to eat in the mean time),then come back and re-connect the battery.

If you're still getting Code 36, then yeah.... it just might be the relay (but I'm surprised that you're not getting Code 33 if it is), since the Burn off & Power relays are linked to one another via the blue wire.
