car problems

i want to hear everyones opinion on what u think is wrong with my car. I have an 87 formula firebird 350 tpi with a 5 speed.
When i go around turns with any speed my car cuts out and trys to die and then when i am driving at steady rpm my car surges. Also it is hard to start and it misses at an idle. Then i also have a question on someting else wrong when i turn on the a/c or the defroster there is a lot of vibration what do u think could be wrong? And one more thing my car smells like it is running rich but u can not smell the rich richness coming out the exhaust but u can smell it coming out by the gas tank door. Just to mention my fuel vapor canistor is not hookup the lines are blocked off do u think the gas tank could be trying to vent its self i just put a new gas cap on it so i know it not from that. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciative.

first of all are you sure you have a 5 speed in your 350 because they never came from the factory like that

Second is the weird surging problem. I dont completly understand how you described it but im thinking maybe it could be your ignition module crapping out? They have been known to get somewhat erattic when they are fading....id get that checked out.

The vibe coming from your a/c....have you tried to track it down visually yet? Maybe just one of the components under the engine is loose or broke a bracket or something....check to see if you can view the vibration and if that doesnt work feel around for it/get a stethascope.

And last im not intelligent enough about cars to know what will happen but i know you do need the canister to bleed off excess pressure in the lines and tank.

You really need to have a working EVAP canister to keep the fuel tank pressure under control.
