Well I hit 375 honest flywheel hp with the same combo and little smaller cam (214/224 .442/.465")
stock unported vortecs

Haveing modded 2.02 vortecs my self now and haveing used that cam in other simular motors I'd say 400/410 hp is not out of the question.
No need to ditch the vortecs They will perform for ya.

easy 12 sec quarters with a bit of a converter and some sticky S/S tires.

Mine ran 13flat @104.5.

You may want to experiment with the cam installed position
in the motor to maximize the power curve (advance)
But other than that it should perform to your expectations.

I'm real curious about how the custom chip fit in to this too.

You can get a whole lot more power out of it with a better cam. That old thing is far from the best choice out there. It's akso teh Edelbrock RPM cam, if you didn't know that; it's one of those generic grinds that's been around forever.

People top 400 HP with those heads, essentially unmolested; flat top pistons; and a Comp XE268. If I was building your motor, I'd go more that direction. That will give about 10.3:1 CR with normal head gaskets that seal, not steel shim. If you want to bump it down a couple of tenths, use the Fel-Pro 1044 gasket instead of 1014.

I'd recommend not trying to do "true duals", if this is a street-driven car..... too much maze with too little cheese at the end. There's virtually no way to keep it from scraping or otherwise simply not fitting the car properly, unless you're willing to spend hourse trial-fitting bends. The negligible performance improvement, if any, and the "bragging privilege", isn't worth the hassle.

You don't need a chip. Nothing in that combo for a computer to control. You will however need a non-computer distributor.

I'd also suggest using a performance carb instead of the Edelbrock/Carter. A Holley or a Demon will work better.
