switched tbi to carb.... pump pressure problems

ok i just switched my tbi to an edel 600cfm carb and i am having problems... k.. i have an electronic in the tank fuel pump that is puttin out 43 psi.... and i can not get a regulator that will drop the psi down anywhere even close to 5.5 - 6.5 and i don't really wanna rip out the tank or any of that stuff. i do have a bolt on for mechanical pump but i will still hafta drop tank to get it to work properly due to the pump in the tanks saftey shut off... right ?? so do i have anyother options i can do to avoid having to drop the tank ???

I had the same problem when I swapped my S-10 from 4.3L to a carbed V8. This is all I needed to make it work,

the holley one cannot handle 43psi of incoming pressure. not deigned to. can handle 15psi. the one to get is the maa4309 from summit. it'can handle 50 psi incoming and has a return port on the bottom to plumb back into the return line on the car. but i have a question how is it that you have a intank pump putting out 43psi on a TBI car? the factory TBI pumps are rated at 20 psi.

no problem. thought maybe you put a TPI pump in or something was really wrong like a pinched fuel line.

mrr23 is right on the other style makes a dead head in the line and will shorten the pumps life. the return reg. is the way to go.
