Push hatch release and srs light blinks?

Push hatch release and srs light blinks?
My remote hatch will not work and when I do press the switch the srs or airbag switch blinks a few times then stops? What the heck do you think could be the problem? I dont want to be driving and have the airbag blow up in my face!
