Fuel runs dry in the lines with tank full. Help me!!!
I just started having this problem. My car is carbureted. Holley and my mechanical fuel pump is good. All the lines from the steal line in the engine compartment up to the carb are new. The problem is the fuel keeps running dry when you hit the gas. You can see bubbles going through the clear strainer I have on there. Anyone know what the problem could be. I have been trouble shooting this for 2 weeks now. Really been a pain. Help me!!

Can that happen suddenly? And I was able to blow back into the line and make bubbles in the fuel, so I dont think it's clogged. Is it possible to purchase a replacement pickup? For the stock tank? It's an 84 Trans Am, so it could very well have rusted through.

Also, I noticed there are two larger lines coming out of the tank and the one smaller return line. I know the one larger line feeds fuel up under the hood, but there is another one just a bit smaller and I can't find where it leads. Is this perhaps a spare fuel pickup that is unused from the factory? If it was, I could swap the rubber lines in the back.

All the rubber lines are new. The only thing original is the steal along the frame rain and the steal that goes into the top of the tank. The steal along the fram does not seem to be damaged in any way. That's whats odd. All the clamps are tight to. Very odd.

I don't think you can swap the lines. The only one that goes to the bottom of the tank is the pickup line.
There should be 4 lines coming out of the tank: 1 is the feed from the pickup tube, one is the return, one goes to the charcoal canister, and one goes to the little vent check valve thing that's in the axle tunnel just in front of the left rear wheel.
Still sounds to me like there's a hole in the pickup line somewhere, maybe inside the tank above the fuel level. Get a new sending unit (includes the strainer and all the tubes).

Anyone have any other ideas before I drop $200 some on a sender? Let me know. Really needs to get fixed. By any chance is the sender/ pickup the same on a 91 camaro 3.1 v6. Cause I have one with a seized engine sitting here. I know there is an in tank fuel pump, but I believe everything else is the same.
