305 Build Up???
Ok I know the 350 is better and equal in cost to build, but has anyone built up a 305 and got any kind of impressive results? Ive seen a stroker kit for a 305 that makes it a 335 but I want to know what a real person thinks not an opinion from a magazine with a paid advertisement.

Stroker kit is a joke. They had to do everything to that stroker that I did to my stock block to get that 90 HP gain they claim. I improved well over 100 HP without changing the displacement.
Exhaust, heads, cam will wake up your engine. Figure on induction and PROM tuning if you do it.

I run low 13's consistently on p265 street tires with my 305 build up. Cam, porting, valves, exhaust, intake, and a good carb and ignition. Roller rockers if u wish. You can't go over a certain point on cam lift though because there is not enough clearance. But you can go enough for nice results. Trust me. My 305 is carbed. Holley 600 race jetted btw. I love my 305. hehe

Thanks for the info, I believe my 305 can perform well with proper motivation and was wondering how it reacted for other people. I have a complete TPI setup that will be dropped on soon to get rid of the TBI so that should help. I have 3.73 gears , stage 2 chip, super coil and 8.8 wires, rearend support , 17x9.5 BFG KDWS, and a kick *** stereo setup.

i think that mine will perform pretty well. i have a 305 bored .030 over, stock replacement pistons, moly rings, OHIO CRANKSHAFT connecting rods (up to 500hp, they were cheaper then reconditioned stock rods see them at www.ohiocrank.com). stock crank, 416 casting heads with a fresh valve job and new valves and springs. crane blue racer cam: .442" .465 at 214*/224*, crane energizer aluminum roller rockers. right now i have an edelbrock torker2 intake but that will change to a performer rpm or holley street dominator intake *something dual plane anyhow*. holley dual feed 600 4bbl sitting on top. all through heddman lt's with moroso spiral mufflers *true duals baby!*. a 700r4 with manual TCC over ride of the OD of my dreams at the flip of a switch. 3.73 disc rearend to back it all up. i think that i have a mid-low 13 second street car.
