Spark Plugs very black and crusty

Hi all, I changed my spark plugs this weekend and noticed that they are very black and a crust like substance has mated to them. I get a dark...soot-like residue coming from my tail-pipes. How can I make my car run less rich!!!!

Back off the fuel pressure. But the thick crud may also be due to incomplete combustion due to poor plugs/wires/cap/rotor.

Maybe check the O2 sensor too? I'm surprised that you wouldn't be getting a code if it was running that rich.

My car (91' bird LO3) seems to be running very rich too. It blows soom kind of liquid/solid? (haven't really figured it out) out of the tailpipe and it stains rocks and cement. I just changed the rotor because it was very, very bad. I'm gonna try plugs and cap next. The wires seem to be fine but if they turn out bad what should I replace them with? My car is at a shop right now. If the mechanic gives me any solution or leads I'll post them here. Good luck.

Accell cap and rotor 25000km's old
Taylor 8mm wires 25000km's old
sparkplugs are of the same age
car boggles a bit while accelerating slowly in neutral from idle to 2000..feels very strong though...
Maybe I should pull the cap off and see what's going on under there...

Thanks
