Freeze Plug Install

What would it take to install new freeze plugs in the rear of a 305? Could I just remove the fly-wheel, or do I have to remove the whole tranny.

Thanks,
Alan

Yes, you need to pull the tranny.

Depending on teh mileage and general engine condition, I'd perhaps be more tempted to remove the engine and leave the transmission in place. It might be a good time to freshen up a few other items as well.

i've seen a lot of leaking freeze plugs but never on a SBC, not that they couldn't leak. usually when they get to the point of leaking there are a lot of other parts getting old and worn too. like vader said i'd be tempted to go through the engine and freshen it up a bit.
