Code #24, someone help me!
Ok, my car is showing a code 24 "Circut fault in vehicle speed sensor." What the hell does that mean? My car has a hard time (most of the time won't even at all) sitting at idel. Once I give her gas, she is good, but as soon as I let off, she dies out.
This started right after I unpluged my battery to disconect my airbag.
HELP! What can I do......

Ok, I have read up on this VSS thing, and it sounds like that is why my speedo does not work. Now, from what I gather the VSS is located on the transmission? Whould that cause the problems listed above? I am sure it is causing my MPH gauge not to work, but why would my car no stay running?
PS how much is a new VSS and is it a pain to change out?

Check to make sure your pulse generator is still connected. Its the wire attached to the rear of your trans, on the driver's side.

Ok, but would that cause it not to stay running? My speedo has not worked for months, this idel problem is very recent.

The idle problem is probably unrelated, and whatever it is, isn't setting a code. Could be a vacuum leak, IAC problem (usually sets a code), clogged idle passages, and many other possibilities. May want to start woth a tune-up if one hasn't been done recently.
The VSS code, could be the sensor actually bad, or a break in the wiring to the sensor. As stated above, it is in the tailshaft of the trans., on the driver's side. I think you can check the sensor with a voltmeter set to the low AC voltage scale connected to the sensor, spin the driveshaft, and it should generate a voltage. Someone else may be able to give more specifics on this test.

Well, I think it is my TPS and my VSS. That is like a $110 for both, so the VSS will have to wait (I don't care how fast I am going), but the TPS is going and a new one is on the way.

You might not care how fast you are going, but your computer does. Your car will run like crap around town until you get it fixed... Good luck.
The ECM doesnt take the vehicle's speed into consideration for anything other then TCC lockup. So the car will actually "feel" quicker since the TCC won't lockup at 38 mile per hour like it usually does.

Did I once read to disregard a code 24 if the wheels are not turning? I get that code if the car idles on start up for very long, but after driving a block or so, the check engine light goes off.
