How do these plans sound?? Will they get me anywhere?
How do these plans sound?? Will they get me anywhere?
My car is completely stock but I plan on doing a lot of work real soon. Heres what i'm looking at. First i want an exhaust: Probably 3/4" hooker headers, dump pipe, dynomax cat, 3" hooker exhaust. Next I was gonna do the intake: SLP cold air, TPIS airfoil, ported plenum, hi-flow runners, and base. After that I was gonna get some heads a cam and a chip. Does this seem like a good plan? Am I missing anything? What kind of result you think I will get in the 1/4?

That sounds fine except for the brand exhausts you want to use. Use slp 1 3/4ths,SLP or Borla catback. SLPs are equal length and all stainless. Their catback is stainless too. Straight flow muffler compared to Dynomax and Flowmasters cross flow. If you are heavily modifying your car, crossflow will only hurt.
Depending on the heads/cam you get, you can see 12s with that setup. Your setup should look something like this:
Cold air induction,airfoil,ported plenum,AS&M runners,TPIS big mouth manifold,Adjustable fuel pressure regulator,MSD box (i'd get one ), AFR 190 heads,Cam (ZZ9/comp cam/crane),slp exhaust,slp headers, and 3:73s. Get some drag radials also.
Don't forget the tranny mods..they can REALLY help.
And last and CERTAINLY not least...a custom burnt chip.

WOW...I dindt think it'd get me anywhere near the 12's. I was thinking of the SLP stuff but it's so expenxive. It will be close to $500 more for the headers and exhaust. Is my order good? Any other suggestions/comments?

I have the SLP's. They are nice, they live up to what SLP says. There was a significant gain in power w/o doing anything else. They sound great too! I payed 350 for the headers, 250 for the cat back, 175 for the jet hot coating of the headers, and 450 for the install of the entire system. It cost a lot, and I had to save a lot, but I'd definatly do it again!
