i rebuilding the 318 in my 74 charger. now
its a 318 2bbl from factory rated 150hp
i am going to do this, the 318, edelbrock preformer intake with carter 625 elec choke 4BBL, carter 7psi fuel pump, 2100 stall converter(maby), edelbrock cam int/exst lift 0.420 int/exst dur 204 deg @ 0.050 , stock
heads w/ edelbrock valve springs to match cam
anything else i have missed? and what kind of power should i have, i want this to be streetable (able to cruise the highway and some stop and go)
thanks

Sounds like a winner! 318s have always been a little weak in off-idle torque, though. Even the so-called Magnum 318s feel a little weak from a stop light. 318s are best once they get moving. That 2100rpm stall converter ought to help.
As with any custom build, don't get discouraged if it doesn't do what you want right away. Half the battle is dialing in the right jetting for the carb and the right mechanical/vacuum spark advance curves.
IMHO, once it's all dialed in, I don't see why you couldn't get 200HP at the rear wheels while burning 87 octane rotgut. Of course, I'm assuming that it has an 8.0:1 CR which was common when your 318 was built.

I've got a set of headers new in the box to fit that car. $60 plus shipping if you want them.
