Car dies intermittently and starts back up after 5 minutes or so...
This just started a couple weeks ago. Every once in a while when either coming to a stop or sitting idle, my car just shuts down and won't start back up for about 5 minutes or so, then it drives normally again. Sometimes I can go 1 or 2 days without it happening. When I try to start it right after it shuts down it will crank but not turn over, then when I let back on the key it will almost fire up. I replaced the fuel filter but the problem still exists. I've got a code 33 and 42 that show up on the scanner but I've had those for quite some time now, way before this started happening. Also, when it happened today I noticed that my fuel pressure never dropped. Any ideas?

Damn, you're usually the one that everyone else asks...
I'm sure that you know that your codes relate to the MAF or MAP (one of the two) sensor and the code 42 refers to the electronic spark control. I could see how the ESC would stop the car from running, and with the mods that you have, I could see why you would trip a code 33.
If the engine shuts off though, I would check your EGR valve for proper operation. It could be sticking open, especially if its an electronic one. A friend of mine had a Buick Regal that did this whenever he hit the brake pedal from high speeds. I would be sure to check the EGR and the solenoid.

Well I just bought a new EGR last year so I don't think that's it. However, I did notice the other day that the male connector that plugs into the female connector coming from the EGR is broken and may not be making a good connection in there. I meant to buy a new connector but never got around to it. Hmm, I'll try replacing that tomorrow.

Oh and one other thing, this morning when I started my car (for the first time in a week) it ran like **** until it got warmed up. It was bucking and cutting out like crazy but once it got warm it ran perfect.

I have somewhat of the same problem. But my car doesn't do it as often. Sometimes, when I stop at a red light, my car will just shut off. I have to put er in park, and then start it again. I find this quite odd, because my car is an automatic. While at idle, and in drive, the car is revvin around 700rpm or so, seems kinda low, I figure it must not be crankin over hard enough to fuel the next cylinder, so it shuts off. Thats what I think (I am not particularly good with cars, but thats why I am here, learnin a WHOLE lot!)

Have you tried removing the gas cap? Sounds like a vacuum is building up somewhere. Are the return lines plugged maybe?
