coolant cleaning stuff?
I saw this stuff at wal-mart,think it was prestone, that said it got rid of rust and all that out of the cooling system. My question is does it work.It said you drain the coolant put this in w/water and drive for 6-10 hrs. Also, when i do flush out my system where are the 2 drain plugs on the engine at(2.8l).
Thanks
never used it but i'd say it would help, or wouldn't hurt. i think you'll get most of the effect from just flushing the system. not sure on your engine but i'd look for a pipe plug just above the oil pan rail about the middle on the block.

I've used this stuff, it seems to work well. You dont drive it for 6-10 HRS (I hope that was a typo) it's minutes. just run it till it reaches normal op. temp and then for another 6-10 min. so it gets to all parts of the coolant system. I used prestone's reverse-flush kit that you use a hose with. You don't have to mess with the plugs on the block, it all comes out the top of the radiator. Hope that helps - just follow their directions carefully.
