Car will not start (open to any sug...)

I gotta 86 bird, 2.8L. It will crank, crank but will not start. I'm not the world's best mechanic but i have checked for fire and fuel. I got plenty of fire to coil. I got fire to plugs but i can't tell if its as strong as it should be. I can hear the fuel pump and relay kick on and i got fuel to the pressure relief valve. I checked the codes on the computer and the engine light repeatedly flashes 12. In which i believe that to mean that the ecm is functioning. Well i tried some part swapping (cap, button, ignition module, ecm). i even did a ohms check on pickup and it seems to be within limits. The day before it quit it ran great no problems then bang it just will not start. any suggstions????

If you have fuel and spark the next place i would check is for injector pulse. Then timing. An engine only needs three things to run and thats fuel, fire, and timing.

Crank it for a few seconds and pull a couple spark plugs and see if you are getting fuel into the engine.

something could have happened to the timing where it is advanced to far for the motor to start.

Could also be the SKIM(Sentry Key Ignition Module) module or relay is bad. I had to ground out my relay to get my car to work.... Relay is still grounded to this day...

if all else fails, it could be something major. If nothing else seems to work, run a compression test on it. Other than what's been mentioned, I am not sure what it could be...vader can probably shed some light on the suject.

I finally got a chance to check it out some more. I got fire. Fuel up to pressure relief valve but no gas from injectors. I can still hear fuel pump and relay. I am going to check fuel pressure as soon as i get a gauge. Could the pressure regulator cause no gas to injectors???

As previously suggested, check to see if you are getting pulses to the injectors. This is really easy to do, all you need is a test light, which is a lot cheaper than a fuel pressure gage. Just unplug one of the injector harnesses and touch a grounded test light to the positive terminal on the harness. If the light flashes then you are getting pulses to the injectors. If not then the computer is probably bad.

Thanks for the advice. I used a test light to see if injectors were pulsing. They were 'nt. The problem turned out to be in the wiring harness to the injectors. She runs like a scalded dawg again (for a 2.8 that is!!).
