Oil leak: oil fill cap???

I have recently had a minor oil leak with my z28. It is about a quart low of oil, and I think I may have found the leak. There is oil on the oil oil fill cap, smells like oil, and when I first opened the hood it smelt like oil. After observing the heads/valve covers for a gasket leak, I noticed oil all around the oil fill cap. Could a oil leak be coming from it? Thanks in advance guys.

its not to likely that you will be leaking a quart of oil out of the cap, even over time, without seeing a lot of smoke coming from the engine compartment from the oil buring on the manifolds or headers.
