My car has taken to some strange problems lately and isn't running well at all now. It's tough to get started and when it does, it pours out white smoke from the exhaust. Once it runs for a while, it can be driven but not very well. It won't idle very well on it's own. It just constantly fluxuates while idling until it just dies eventually. It is a 1992 with 305 V8, automatic tranny, and TBI. Any ideas on what it is and how to fix it?

 

White smoke is usually a sign of a blown head gasket. I'd check your coolant to make sure that it isn't dropping and I'd also check your oil for signs of water.
