Ok i have a problem. When i'm going 45 down the road and i have to push the brake my car likes to turn to the right real hard everytime. You have to act fast to counter the pull it has because its quite strong. Now it will happen anythime when i press the brake but normally i dont have to mash it down too hard at slow speeds so it doesn't do it. But at 45 it does it real hard. Anyone have any idea, i have already bleed the brakes and nothing has happened.

Thanks in advance

Dave Y is correct, your left front brake hose has collapsed internally and is blocking the flow of fluid to the brake. This happened to me about a year ago, only mine was on the right side and it did a sudden and violent jerk to the left when I touched the brakes while doing 60 mph on a two lane road. Fortunately, there weren't any other cars on the road at the time and I was only a mile from home. :hail: :hail:

You can check the hose by removing it and shooting some brake cleaner through it. It might just be clogged.

The caliper could also be sticking, and since they're cheap you might as well replace them and the brake hoses. I was having the same problem and replaced both, now it brakes nice and straight.

alright thanks guys, but i'm prolly gonna be a cheapskate and go buy me a new hose. I already tried Autozone for the hoses and they dont have them, where would be a great place to go get the flex hoses. I sorta read around and some people said something about Homedepot has one for $2 or $3, only problem is its clay brown. STP has one in really nice colors(same quality) for $40.

alright never mind the home depot thing(i guess), but i was looking at discountautoparts.com and they have some hose for pretty cheap prices, from $10 to $14. Now they have 6 different ones to choose from.

*checking autozone's website, just in case* and nothin

*checking pepboys website* something but not important.

Since you didn't specify what year and model your car is, it will be difficult to tell you a good place to shop. However, I have an '89 Iroc and was able to find the hoses for my front brakes at AutoZone, NAPA also carries them as well as the local dealership. I had to get the rear brake hoses from my local dealer.
Also, when you replace the hose, it is also a good idea to replace the flow-thru bolt and copper washer at the same time.

thanks guys for the help, so i'llneed to get the hoses, if its not fixed then calipers, and maybe the flow-thru bolt and washer. My mom's paying for it and she'll buy that stuff for me.

If ya needed to know i got a 1986 Trans Am TPI.

i looked at autozones website and it said they didn't have it, i also went there and they said they didn't have it. But discount auto parts is only 3 miles away so i'll go there for what i need. Thanks thouhg.

any good auto parts store should either have them, or keep them in stock

you REALLY REALLY REALLY should replace the flex hose on the other side, and the one going to the rear axle too....

think of it this way... one has rotted enough that it collapsed, imagine what shape the others are in. its less then $20 a hose. is your life worth less then $20 for a stupid hose?

ok i repalced my flex line with ealr's high performance braided lines, new calipers, replaced strell line to the rear, rear flew line with earls high performance line, stell lines on the axle. my car sill pulls to the left under braking. its not as bad but still does i've bed the brakes alot too. could it be my proportioning valve??? or maybe a warped rotor? also a coupel of times it pulled to the right instead. also my balljoints in the frint are getting pretty worn out and theres some slop in the steering. could that be the problem? i'm going to be replacing all of that and getting an alignment soon

Could be a warped rotor but not likely. My guess would be the calipers. That was the problem with mine and once I replaced them, I had no more pull.

wait... sometimes to the left and somtimes to the right?

hmmm.. try this... go onto perfectly level ground, then stop quickly..

then try the same thing with one side in a rut in the road.... repeat for the other

if it always pulls to the side thats in the rut, and stops straight of flat pavement, thats "normal"

its from the car flexing around at its old age..

now if on level smooth ground, it still pulls, you can try cleaning off and greasing your caliper bolts if you havent already done so..
