Do you have to relocate the battery for SLP Cold Air?

I asked for this for Christmas..but I got to thinking about it..don't you have to relocate the battery so the cone filter can sit in it's place? Or does it go over to the right by the washer fluid? Everything I do turns out to be more work..geeze

Yes you have to move your batery but don't get it. You can make you own for 55 bucks with a pair of k&n filters.

You move it to the trunk? How does that work..sounds like a btich...I heard (not by SLP) that the SLP was the best cold air induction you could get for this car..and it doesn't look junkyard warsish..

I'm guessing your battery is on the pass. side The SLP CAI uses that side. You have to move the battery to the drivers side just like the firebird. The mount is already there. Just have to get new(longer)battery cables and extend the ECM memory wire. I have a SLP CAI and it's appearence if factory perfect. Highly recommended.

Holy Crap! Nice car! You running like 12.3-11.80's?!?! I got to thinking about that whole trunk thing and that didn't seem very logical so I figured you just put over on the other side. Good deal. What kinda of gains did you get with the cold air? SLP claims 15-20..anywhere near that? Thanks alot man..nice nice ride

Wow! Thanks for the cool compliments. I wish I was in the 12's but alas my first and only run so far netted, are you ready for this?
13.9@112 talk about bummed. I have no traction at all. That will soon change once I change rims/tires
I couldn't tell the differance the CAI made because I did all that at the same time! Talk about a SOTP improvement! I was shocked at the power differance from the stock 305.

No, no slicks for me, I don't want to break anything. this is my daily driver. I put 30 miles a day on it just going to work and back.

You are like 18 MPH faster than me but only 7 tenths quicker..you KNOW that you have at least a second and a half to gain..The guy I last run was running like 11.6 or something at 118..so you got your self a hot car..I know what you mean about slicks though..my car would break in half if I hooked up at 4500 RPM

Speed: Thanks for the good words. No Rustang has romped the gas at me yet, maybe they know? Doubt it! I'm thinking I'll be the one romping first and see what they do....

Yarnboy: What does SLP claim they get from their CAI? My friend has a 89 Firebird and is looking for a CAI but something a little cheaper then SLP. Any suggestions? Maybe something custom handmade that doesn't look like a rig job...
