Does this stuff really work?

I have seen commercials recently advertising Lucas Oil Products. After checking their website and reading testimonials, I'm inclined to try their Transmission Fix. It supposedly corrects slipping and fixes most leaks around seals, which I have at the speedometer cable housing. Does anyone out there have any experience with Lucas Oil Products?

yes their stuff works well...i wouldnt use the motor oil stuff though. we sell it where i work and i have heard/experienced a few things about it. the trans stuff supposedly works very good, either way i dont think it could hurt. i put it in my trans and it didnt help but i think ive got major problems. people tell me it's helped them though, and for $7 might as well give it a shot. the p/s formula has worked well for me also. there was a little display w/ gears that you could crank that were submerged in oil. one side was 25% lucas, the other was 10w30. you could see the lucas cling to the gears and travel upward when you turned them. but we stuck it in the freezer for a few hours and the lucas never looked/worked the same again. wouldnt want that to get very cold in my oil pan on a winter night. the fuel system cleaner works good too. you can actually smell the carbon and other crap being burned while the lucas is in your tank.

I was planning on fixing the leak, but since the tranny has begun to slip slightly, thought I would try this first. Besides, the leak is very minimal, just annoying enough that I park it over a mat in the garage.

oh yeah i forgot about the leak...i dont really trust any fix-a-leak in a bottle. im not so sure about the leak-fixing quality of the lucas trans stuff...but i know in some cases it helps its function. i would fix the leak first, then add the lucas while the trans fluid leve is low. a good tip is to stick the bottle of lucas in a pot of hot water for a little while before you plan on pouring it, oherwise you'll be there forever...that stuff is thick as hell
