Performer intake vs. stock hood

If I install an Edelbrock performer intake on my 83 TA will I no longer be able to use the stock air cleaner setup on it? It has the original cowl induction setup, which I like, but I`m concerned about the intake being too tall to keep the cowl stuff. Any help for a newbie with his first F body? Thanks!

Dont know about the cowl peices the hood I have on my car came from a CFI car so the peices are different. You should be able to use the performer manifold its not much different then stock, an Action+ would be better if you want to se any performance gain
