That's your PCV return. It's got a filter element sitting in the fitting that goes into the valvecover.

The passenger side valvecover has the actual PCV valve...that circulates air in through the crankcase, and it's vented back out the driver's side, where it's filtered, and vented back into the intake to be reburned. Brings emissions up.

Really?

So you are saying that there is a filter in the grommet housing that connects the tube to the valve cover and it is on my passenger side

Originally there was a lot of buildup oil resisdue inside the carb and plenum. Leading to small problems that I have tried to clean up.

I'm a little mistaken here...actually there is no filter in there. I was thinking of my Mustang, which has a screen, but from what I was told, these cars don't.

And built up oil residue in the carb? What carb?

I'm afraid you've got the flow direction backwards there. The PCV valve is hooked up to the vacuum side of the intake, so it pulls a vacuum on the crankcase.

The aluminum tube is a filtered air crankcase inlet. It's at atmospheric pressure (down-stream of the air filter but up-stream of the TB), so the vacuum being pulled on the crankcase by the PCV valve pulls fresh clean air into the crankcase through this tube. This keeps combustion gases that get around the piston rings from building up in the crankcase. The "burning" takes place when the gases going into the intake manifold hit the cylinders.

That's O.K. When I read "Aluminum Tube" I though he might have been performing deuterium processing for plutonium extraction...

Thanks man... Damnit I've skimmed this post 50,000 times and I can't believe I never noticed my own typo. I basically told him the PCV valve and PCV return were both on the pass. side. That must've been a bit confusing!

Finally Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bad Plugs was todays lesson! Why? U Jest. Because Chemtool oil residue and crankcase carbon vapors make a nice glaze when u run for twenty mins and shut it down(hot plugs) and one more cold start then today really bad I even sandedd the plugs that wont work cause the ceramic has a nice glaze (the spark shot from center to edge of course this is bad so off to the zone and Kick #ss running smooth also opted for new wires

I would like to thank all of you all for ur much needed thoughts. This has been a long series of threads (search my threads) all related to this problem and now the finall finish Once again
