O2 sensor reading code 44

I have an '84 Z28 with the LG4 engine and my computer is reading a code 44 which is lean oxygen sensor reading, but my car seems to be running rich, does this mean my O2 sensor is bad or that my carb needs to be tuned.

That happened to me, it just happened ocassionally so i ignored it, and nothing happened. But if it happens all the time, first check to make sure the wire to the sensor is connected, then if it is, and if you are really worried about it/need to pass emission tests, get a new one, u can get them for like $40

your car is running rich becasue the sensor is reading that it is lean and giving more fuel.. when i had this code , i pulled the o2 sensor and it was black and caked up with carbon.. i changed the o2 sensor and said goodbye to code 44.. just change your sensor or make sure the wiring is not damaged.
good luck,
