Best engine setup for removing ECM

I was thinking of getting either a Weiand Stealth intake or an edelbrock performer, but the Weiand is cheaper. Which is better?
Also, what cam shoudl I go with? I was thinking of the Summit K1104 cam kit which is .465/.465 int/exh and 224*/224* dur. But I think I can go a little bigger, but i dont know if I can still have power brakes and stuff. Ca I go bigger? I want a lopey idle, btw. Im probalby gonna go with pretty stock heads with mild porting and 2.02/1.6 valves. I need to know what type of valve springs to get, thoug, with roller rockers. And I should probably get screw in rocker studs. Is this a good setup for a street machine? I will be driving it pretty much daily, but it doesnt have to get great mileage. Oh, I forgot, im gonna get Summit Performance headers, with no cats, dual 2.5" pipes, and flowmaster mufflers that exit right in front of the axle. This whole system will cost less than $250!! Please help me decide what parts to buy... thanx. Oh yeah, almsot forgot - the engine is a 73 Chevy SB400. PS - i am on a budget, so I have to get the cheapest performance possible

I have my ECM disconnected on my 86 T/A.
I have a 5 speed LG4 305, so the only thing the ECM controlled was the dist. and the carb.
I changed teh carb to an Edelbrock 1406 and the intake to a Performer RPM 7101. Also changed the dist. to a vacuum advance unit from a 70something GM car.
Changing those 3 parts made a world of difference, got my car to run a 14.9 in the 1/4 mile.

Thats a good point about the carb - i forgot I will need a non-cc one. What is a good carb for performance and mileage if possible. Would a vac controlled 70s Q-Jet 4bbl be good? The reason I ask is because I know how to tune 4 bbl Q-Jets.
