Car won't start - long story
Stupid car has been getting hard to start for a long time now but now it won't start at all. Two days ago it wouldn't start and I changed the cap and rotor and it started. Once it starts it runs great.
I checked fuel pressure and it looks fine. I checked for spark and it seemed fine. I took out idle air control valve/moter, pulled the piston out, and reinstalled it just in case it was stuck and was letting too much air into the mixture. I did notice that the idle air control valve/motor did not move in or out when I had it connected and turned the key. I charged my battery cuz it's been low from all the cranking. I redid the connector that connects the two wires inside the distributor cap to the ignition module because water had leaked into the distributor and had corroded the wires.
I have not checked my timing recently but I guess I should. I checked it a few weeks ago and base timing was 8 deg advanced; right where I left it years ago. I should probably also check that injectors are firing.
I'm running out of ideas. You guys have any?
Thanks

you should say what you have. cold start injector maybe? check injecters to see if they have power, check fuel preasure. you sound like you're not sure if it's good or not, or maybe that's just how i read it. if you have spark at the end of the wire, use spark checker not a plug, then what ever is inside or under the distributor cap is good

Starting Fluid makes motor turn on but
then it dies. That means the spark and timing and all that stuff are good enough to start right? Now I just need to see if maybe fuel is not getting into the cylinders some how. I tried looking at the voltage on the wires connected to the injectors while I cranked and I saw the voltmeter reading something so I am going to assume the that signal is getting to the injectors.
What could it be? Fuel pressure seems fine. Am I forgetting something? I don't have cold start valve. 1989 IROC. Even if sensors where screwed it should at least fire if gas was getting into the cylinders. Can the regulator be reading good but not letting gas get to the injectors?
Please Help!!!! I only have one car and it's not working!!!!
Thanks
