Fender removal?
Hey here's just sort of a general wonderment: how many folks when it's time to install headers or remove/install heads pull the fenders to make it easier?? It seems like you'd get fewer banged knuckles that way. I remember reading that there's only 4 bolts that hold them (fenders) on anyway...any ideas??

I think I would take a few banged up knuckles. First you will have to remove the hood. Then the ground FX (can be major pain depending on year) which you will probably need to pull the front wheels off to get to some of the screws. then remove fenders.. which there are "at least" 10 or more bolts to them off. Disconnect the turn signal lights. Then you have to get it all back together and line up everything when you are done.. This is all about a days project if you have someone helping you. Just my 2 cents.

I doubt you'd see much of an improvment in space. You'll still be blocked from a side view of the motor by the upper frame rail and the whole steel strut tower that comes up off the lower frame rail. Removing the outer fender and inner plastic fender would just let you get closer to the back/front of the tire.

The fenders? The fenders are on the OUTSIDE of the car! Removing them will give you no underhood clearance whatsoever. The strut tower area is part of the unibody and not removable.
