OIL - Around Carburetor ? ?

ok, my pvc thingy has a hose going into the carburetor well right there where it goes in there are like droplets of oil and a noticeable, very noticeable amount of oil around the hose to where it meets the carb, my Idle Mixture Screws are all oily kinda and the hose like 2 inches of it is just wet looking cause its all oily, this seems a little outta wack doesn't it, there houldn't be this kinda oil build up should there ? ? when I pull the hose of the barb end coming out of the carb is like all black kinda with drops of oil all over like actual oil driplets... ??? normal, bad, don't matter or what ? ?

It sounds like yuor valve covers are not baffled. This would allow oil to enter the pcv and get into the carb.

I've never had this problem before though, just recently started.

I know all the oil residue on the outside of the carburetor, on the Idle Mixture Screws, and on the hose are due to the fact the hose is old and hard and not sealing to the PCV port very well. Just the entire area there is oily and you can tell by the dust stickin to it.

I pulled the hose off the carburetor and like the PCV port kinda dropped a few driplets of oil and crap; and the port was covered in like oil like you touch it its wet and runny so theres alot of crap going through there I'm afraid.

I know the PCV thingy releases gases and **** like that right, but I didn't think it'd suck oil up like that, because its never done that before. It won't gue up my carburetor with that oil or will it?

Like I said this just started and so I'm just checkin things out to make sure its all good. I pry sound like an idiot making a big deal out of nothing but you can never be to careful.

This isn't ment to scare you but ....................

I had the same problem on my TPI car . Now the 305 is dead !

This ****MIGHT*** be caused by a buildup of pressure in side the engine ......causeing it to come up the PCV tube ........I also noticed ( further in its life ) oil started to walk up the dipstick tube . ........ then I started pissing oil out of all my seals ......then welll .....you get the idea .

My valve covers are bafled ....and oil still got into the plenum area via the PCV tube .

Have you noticed an increase in Oil pressure ?

MAN!! You just freaked me out dude, or at least I think you did. When you said oil started creeping up the dipstick how do you mean. I checked my oil the other day and i was like at the half point on the dipstick but then oil came up like another two inches higher on the dipstick but only on the one side like half the stick. Car had been sittin for awhile too.. so same thing oil coming up the dipstick or not I don't know but you freaked me sorta.
My front seal leaks pretty good so thats scary. On the valve covers on the passenger side one that port right there with the breather like theres an oil residue that goes down the valve cover about 4 inches each way as if craps comin up through that little seal thing around that tube. How long did your car last once you saw these symptoms ? I'll start planning her funeral and get the new baby ready. 350.

After I noticed it comeing up the dipstick tube ( I mean it actually came right out of it ......and dripped on my Y-pipe ) .....it lasted about 3 months ...... but it could have maayyybe lasted longer ......but one day something just let go on it . I was lucky I wasn't pulled over for it ......it started smokeing pretty bad

drive it easy ....and it will last a little longer .......sounds like your symptoms haven't advanced as fas as mine were .....yet
