For the sensor that was in the base of the old air cleaner, I drilled a hole or puched one out or something in the new base and put it back in there, I think some people relocate it, its been awhile since i did this to my old car so i dont remember exactly...hope that helps

vader....everytime i try to read a code it wont do anything. you stick a wire from the top right corner to the bottom right corner right?? i think it is that harness. i tried to do the TC lockup with it too...and that didnt work either. im gonna get a voltage tester to see if anything is comin out of it. BTW...i threw that sensor back on it....just chilling loosely in the engine compartment and no code....does it have to be in the element (will it affect anything) or can i just leave it there. thanks V.

I'm pretty sure its the IAT, so relocating it to a cooler spot may even help you out a tiny little bit

Well duh..you just answered your own question dude. Of course it's going to throw a code without the IAT hooked back up! It really doesn't matter a whole lot if it's mounted in the air cleaner or not as long as it's plugged in. Although I wouldn't suggest laying it on a hot engine part. A lot of guys relocate them to somewhere with cooler air. It's supposed to help performance a bit.
