I wasn't sure if this should go here or on the carb board, but here goes...

1986 Camaro IROC-Z LG4

I have already removed the rod on the air flaps over the secondaries (the rod limited them to open only 3/4) and now when you step on it the vacuum pulls it open 100%...

I also have an open element on the car, and plan on doing exhaust this Spring...

Anything else? Probably not, but I figured I'd ask...

Advance the timing a couple of degrees at a time. I've got mine set a 3 degrees now vs. the zero factory setting, makes a big difference in throttle response, believe it or not. I ran it at 6 degrees this past summer, but had to use mid-grade to keep the pinging down while advanced that much.

Look in the tech articles for adjusting the AV. You said you got them to open completely, but didn't say you adjusted the spring to get them to open more quickly. Doing this, and freeing up the exhaust flow may require changing the rods & hanger, and although not "free", isn't that expensive.

An often over-looked "free" mod is keeping the tire pressure up to the proper level.

As far as the timing, it was advanced, but the pinging was unbelievable!

I run 93 Octane...

hey whats up?
Heres a cheap mod for ya, call around to carb rebuild shops in your area and see if they can sell you a set of secondary metering rods and a new hanger. I put a DR rod in and a B hanger and my car pulls like a son of a bitch. they make your secondarys have more gas to mix with all that air you got going to your secondaries. But the DR rods might not be right for you, jsut buy lots of rods and play around with it. youll get it right for your car.
later and good luck

I didn't even get a new hanger I just bent the stock one upward slightly and it worked fine. Keep bending the hanger until you start going slower and running rich.
