Busted Turn Signal Level
When I click clockwise to for right turn, the signal level doesn't stay. It works left wise though. What exactly do I go buy to replace. I have heard they are a bitch to put in. But I don't have the money to get some moron to do it. How much do these cancels run.... and is there a quick fix? Hopefully it's just one thing.

Well I doubt it's the lever itself but those run about $110. The lever just plugs into the column with no fasteners and the only hard part is getting the wire right. You probably have to replace some switch inside the column itself...which COULD get messy...

There is a plastic ring with the clicking mechanism on it. it is about $40 from the dealer. I might need to get one for my 86 T/A cuz my turn signal doesn't always click to the center position which makes my drivers side brake light not turn on. You have to take off the steering wheel and take apart the steering column(sp?) to raplace the part. It's not too hard from what I hear, it just takes awhile to do. If you can, take yours apart first to see if you can fix the spring mechanism in there first, before buying a replacement.

what you describe sounds like a turn signal switch. they run 15-$20, and most any auto parts store has them. the hardest part of the whol job is guiding the wires down the column. step by step; remove steering wheel. remove the plastic disc behind where wheel was, rent or uy a lock plate remover and depress the plate far enough to remove the retainer ring from the column. now, you need to unscrew the hazard ****, then three screws behind the sitch(hint, to access the bottom one, move the directional in the RH turn position) disconnect wires at base of column, and reverse all steps.
