I would use an electric die grinder. They tend to have better support of the cutter. And unless you have a huge air compressor, the air die grinder will keep the compressor running almost non stop.

what should i pay the most attention to in porting the intake? it seems to have quite a bit of metal to work with.. how about the plenum? it looks pretty thin.... and the runners.. is there anything you can actually do to em other then clean em really good and do a light polish?

you dont want to polish the intake

you want to polish the exhaust though.

porting a stock tpi intake and plenium... no exhaust involved... the heads were professionally done a few years back and actually flowtested and everything so I don't plan on touching them, I'm just trying to get the most I can out of this tpi system so I can hopefully pass emissions before swapping to an lt1 intake

Check this file for some hints:

Plenum Porting.pdf

You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view/access/print the file.
