my car has about 127,000 miles on it . I have noticed that my oil pressure has started to drop little by little over the past few months. Well I just recently changed the oil pressure switch just to see if maybe the sensor was dirty. Well that did not work. Is my oil pump going out or is there something else that I should check. I am going to change the oil wed. and see if maybe the filter is just dirty. Any thoughts or comments would really help me out .

10 psi per 1000 rpm is acceptable what is your oil preasure? might want to screw a mechanical gauge in the block somewhere and see what you really have

 

And if the mechanical gauge verifies what the dash gauge is indicating, you need to evaluate whether the oil and filter you are using are correct.
