Engine fired, problem was with TBI unit being clogged, but problems still exist, engine has an eradict idle and will sputter out, adjusted the timing, but with everything reconnected still have same engine problem. Thoughts - Oxygen Sensor bad, need open element filter, not enough air flow.

Also, the distributor contacts appear to be rusted and with the distributor out it does not spin freely, it feels like it is catching, I know the rust is not normaly, but should the distributor spin freely when it is out of the engine?

does it not start or not fire? no fire might be the rust. if it fires but not start i'd be checking the timing and distributor instalation. might also have a wire not hooked up
