best repair manual?

I know I have heard you guys talk about some really good repair manual. It wasn't chiltons, I think it started with an H, maybe Helms or something. Anyways, I would like to know so I can get one and do some work to my car

Helm is the one. It is the one that the dealers use, by far the most detailed and accurate. Doesn't hurt to have a Chiltons or Haynes around either for more reference though. The Helm manuals are expensive (like around $90) if you buy direct from Helm, but it will be brand new. I have seen them at many swap meets as well as online for much cheaper. Anyways, their site is www.helminc.com .

Nothing beats the factory Shop Manual.

helms is by far the best manual. expensive and very detailed. i like motor manuals myself, but they're hard to find. i usually buy the first manual i come across that has the car in it i'm looking for.

The manual on ebay looks like a Helm manual, because it has the Chevy and GM logos on it. Definately doesn't look like a Chiltons or a Haynes manual. If you have an '86 Camaro than sure, go ahead and get it, $25 is a good price.

If you don't get it from Ebay I have an extra one I could send you for 25 shipped.

Chilton and Haynes are good for the average back yard mechanic. There's a lot of stuff I want to know that neither of these manuals will tell me.

I use shop manuals or Motor manuals whenever I can.
