The Better Head?????

Which of these two heads would yall guys suggest?

Vortec
World Products Sportsman II

I notice that with life at and under .500" the Vortecs outflow the Sportsmans. But I have also read that the Sportsmans can be ported where-as the Vortecs can't really be ported for big gains. Which set of heads would yall guys recommend?
Thanks

Depends on the purpose. A general question will get broad, general answers. The Vortecs can be ported as well. Part of the answer will come with your intake choice...and valve lifts.

I should of included this. With either heads the valve lift will be .480" with 1.5 rockers. Vortecs would be run with a Performer RPM Air Gap, and the Worlds would be ran with a Weiand X-celerator.
Thanks

Yep- the vortecs can be ported, although it's a thinner casting. I'd think if you keep the lift down, they'll breath just fine.

Just keep in mind if you upgrade in the future, those heads will need more work.

I'm going to have to go with the Sportman's. They a aftermarket head and with the world's they always compensate for extra porting. I think they're a much better base to start with, even if they dont have the magic Vortec raised runner design.
