I'm using Fel-pro valve seals on my new 350 vortec heads. Also I have a friend that has an LT1 and he just relaced his seals from Fel-pro. We both bought our seal sets from TPiS!! they're cheap only $18.00 from TPiS.

TPiS Part # for valve seals are 700-160

i think you ought to let your shop treacher stick to teaching shop. buy some postive seals, fel pro makes very good ones or even teflon postive seals. i use the old fashioned o rings too, just to make me feel better but i know it'd pretty pointless to use them. i'd avoid umbrella seals
