Hose comming from air cleaner is broken
Ok, I colord it red. What does this do, its completely broken in half, is that bad? Could it be the reason for the check engine light turning on after the car drives for a while then the light turns on and off every five minutes or so. What should I ask for at a parts store, and how does it come out of the bottom of the air cleaner, just pull it?
Thanks.
Thanks.

red hose from the AIR CLEANER? or the snorkel?
if its to the air cleaner, its just a breather tube... which isnt a huge deal.
if its from the drivers side manifold, thats nothing to worry about at all.
if it's a vacuum line that goes to the throttle body or carb, then yeah that can be bad.
but as for codes, just pull it and see.

The hose isn't red, I just colord it red to make it obvious which one I was talking about. I ment to post a picture but forgot.

That goes to your thermac system. It allows the little flap to open inside the air horn after warmup. A vacuum motor pulls it open after a certain temp is reached. That's what it looks like that hose is going to.
Not a big deal, just replace the hose.
You'll have a vacuum leak till then....so it'll run a little rough.

Thanks, does anyone know what to ask for at NAPA, or should I just rip it off an say "I need one of these" and see if it works.

Just remove the air cleaner - remember where the vacuum hose you pulled off the carb goes, and take the whole air cleaner to NAPA if ya have to....it's just rubber hose, nothing special.
Sold in bulk (rolls), sold in ft. -they just need to know the ID of it and how long.
s'cuse me, I meant OD.....

PyRo's got it, just take the hose itself to Napa and tell them you need a length of vacuum line the same length as the one you pulled off your air cleaner (get it a little longer then you actually need, you can always cut it off later). They should know what you need. That size vacuum line comes in bulk and they should be able to cut you the length you need for less than $5. Just make sure you remember where the hose came off so that you can put it on properly afterwards.
