Hi, I want to check piston to valve clearence in my 383 hyd roller.
Do I have to by solid lifters to do it?
Also i`m running eldebrock perf rpm heads without egr ( no problems with law here).Shall I get bad idle without egr?

i never used solids for it. i use a set of soft springs and a dial indicator instead of the clay method, no head gasket.

 

I don`t know how to do it.The clay method is easier for me but I have to by 2 solid lifters mmm............
What about driving without egr passage in the head .Should I have any idle problems?
