Help!!! Emissions time again and...
Help!!! Emissions time again and I've failed. Passed last year, but this year NOX and HC are WAY up.
Would an open air cleaner have this big of an effect?
The changes made this year include new EGR Valve, egr solenoid, O2 sensor, new exhaust(minus headers) but including high flow cat and MSD ign coil.
The only I thing I ciould think of is to put back the original air cleaner system and also a new IAT sensor.
Am I missing anything before I go back again for round 2?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Andy

Can ya give us a little more info on where ya failed and what your numbers are?
How is your pcv functioning? Was the car hot when ya took it in? How is your ignition system? Clean air filter? Are you EFI and whe is the last time you ran some injector cleaner through and changed your oil??

It is a L03, VIN E.
NOX 2185 ALLOWABLE 1121
HC 169 ALLOWABLE 157
Car was running at 220 degrees. (I drove it for 15 min)
Changed oil 1500 miles ago along with Injector cleaner.
Air cleaner has 3000 miles on it. It is a 14" K&N open air.
No, the PCV has not been swapped yet. Would that cause it?
I am thinking that the open air is what got me, even though the IAT sensor was hooked up and the vacuum plugged.

Thanks for the replies. The Cat is Brand new. Less than a few months old. It's acatco cat. The plugs have 24,000 on them.
I brought it to a new testing center after I put back on the original air cleaner setup and with a new IAT. The numbers went down drasitcly. So it could be that this new testing center has equipment that works and people that know how the F to use it. Also, the new IAT sensor may have helped.
Buuut, still failed on NOX. It's now at 1350. So it is in Competent hands now at a reputable shop. they are thinking that the timing may be off by a few degrees. We'll wait and see.
