i have a 1989 GTA with a L98 tpi and i had to send my chip to a guy very nice guy who said he would take the vats out because i lost my key anyway he read the chip and said it was corrupted now he erased it and out good info back on the ? is this how bad was that hurting my performance? the car seem to run fine even know it did not seem as fast as it should be with the mods i have could this be why i was slower than i should have been? and will the reprograming help alot?

 

Your stock chip was not corrupt. He used the wrong file to read your '89 code.
Your '89 uses $6E code and I'll bet money he used $32 trying to read it. It will show as corrupt that way.

You will see no differance in performance, probably worse if he programed with $32 code.
