Try "Camaro Performance" you can find it in Summit, they also have others but a buddy of mine recommended that book, he used it when modifying his third gen.

Thank you, I'll check it out.

Any other good books covering TPI mods?

Thanks

I agree with you, except, I'm from the old school and I got this feeling that EFI is not going away, so I better learn as much as I can.

The more I read about the basics of TPI modification and EFI in general, the fewer questions I'll ask and the less time I'll spend doing long searches for short basic (for you) answers.

The more I can learn about this IROC and TPI, the smaller my learning curve will be with my KB blown EFI 68 Fastback Mustang.
I'm already rethinking my rearend gear ratio choices after driving the IROC with 3:08 and a 5 speed.

Take care this Holiday

M35A2 10 wheel drive (if you count the wheels, otherwise 6X6) stars and all. Great shape, 21,000 miles, $9 a month for full coverage and parts are cheaper than dirt. Tranny, transfer case or complete dual rear axle setup including springs are $125 ea.

It's a blast. Of all the rides I've owned in the last 30 plus years, it gets the most attension. People in their cars, trucks and yards wave. I can't pull into a parking lot without having people come over to check it out and talk.

Ever been in one?

Any other suggestions?

I bought the Lingenfelter book. Went to the library and picked up "Small-block Chevy engine buildups and Small-block Chevy Performance".

They all have some good engine information but not exactly what I'm looking for.

Thanks
Ken

Ken - I learned how to drive one while I was serving in the Army. All of ours were beat to snot, the running gag was "if it DIDN'T leak oil, it didn't run at all," and "If you get it stuck, you REALLY screwed up." Loved the things, I was sorry to see them go for the all-new LMTV's. Our favorite tools for them were Big Hammer, adjustable wrench and a Leatherman. (the ride in the back sucked, but oh well... Join the Army, see the world - from the back of a deuce-and-a-half...!)

You could try "How to Repair and Modify Chevrolet Fuel Injection" By Ben Watson. It covers the "basics" quite well and even explains some of the things you'd see when scanning your ECM/engine. Also has pin outs of ECM's and basic wiring.

I like the TPIS book myself. A lot of very good information for the price. You can pick one up in Summit. Also I think there was a Hot Rod Issue about TPI (June 2000). It tell about the basics of TPI. Someone turned it into a jpeg file. I got it off the message board. If you can't find it, email me and I'll forward to you (CHUNLNG@INDY.NET).
