Need help with the rear fuel pump relay! Need Help ASAP!
Well I trace, and tested the relay in the fron of the car(89 gta-5.7) and it tested fine, but I'm trying to find the one in the rear? Is it above the rear end on the body? Does it have 3 wires to it? And how would I check it? The fuel pump does come on every once in a while, but doesn't stay on long? Could it be a faulty oil pressure switch, and how could I check it? Thanks for anyhelp!

There's no relay in the rear...only in the engine compartment.
When you say "it comes on" do you mean when you turn on the key,l the pumps comes on for a few seconds, then shuts off? If so, that's correct.
What exactly is your problem, anyway?

The fuel pump comes on sometimes, but about 75% of the time it doesn't. I was told there was a relay in the back, but I guess the guy who told me didn't know jack. Anyways I go out to start my car, and sometimes it will run, and sometimes the fuel pump doesn't even kick on at all? I checked the fuel pump relay, and just put a new oil pressure switch, so I guess it needs a new pump?

Hmmnn...best to check you grounds at the pump and wiring before diving in and replacing the , then monitor the voltage first, usually a faulty pump on it's way out will get a louder "whine" to it.
When the pump doesn't energize (when you first turn the key on), will the car still start with extended cranking? Might take 10 seconds or so of cranking.

No it won't start at all! where is the ground for the fuel pump? I'll check it! Because when it does work it will only work for a total of about 20 seconds then the motor stalls out, and won't start up.

The wires for your fuel pump should run down the left side of your car under the carpet along the door sill. The fuel pump ground wire breaks off from the wire bundle and is grounded to the car frame under the drivers seat near the front mount.

run a wire from the positive pole of a twelve volt battery to terminal "G" of the ALDL and the negative pole to ground on the car frame. This will cause the fuel pump to run if it is good.

No, that terminal is the diagnostic port for running power to the fuel pump for test purposes by by-passing the fuel pump relay.

yes i had the same problem, but before i replaced what i thought was a bad fuel pump, i saw the diagnostic procedure in my manual. the problem was, that there is a wire from the batter which connects to a fuse that then goes to power the sections of the ecm that control the maf, and the fuelpump. i check the fuse and it was fine, turns out while i was workin on the car i pulled that wire off the batter for *** knows what reason. i would check that next if your pump does indeed turn on. if it stil doesn't turn on, chances are you need a new fuel pump, unless somthing has gone horribly wrong with your relay, or if the fuse is blown.
