I deleted the duplicate post (where you were practicing the link). It looks like you've spent a couple of hours under the hood.

One hint: This is a TECH board, so you at least have to try to fake it and make the topic a little bit technical, like "Do these pants make my a$$ look fat?", or "Will this ram-air snorkel fit under the hood?". O.K., maybe that first one wasn't quite technical enough. Guess I just repeated that one out of habit...

Looks like a nice ride, but, where's all the snow? I could take a similar photo, but it would be more like all piles of snow and "Dude, where's my car?"

Lose the emissions stuff, replace all the hoses with those that match the color of your car or the plug wires (yellow). I've thought about painting the "tuned port injection" plate on the tb but it would take a real steady hand to keep it on the letters. Nice pic!

IROK, do what many others have done. Paint the whole "plate" whatever color you want, and then take a small file or sandpaper and sand the paint off the raised letters. I think you can see mine in this pic.

How does your stove pipe work for you? I've been contemplating some sort of cold air intake and have found what might be a good route through the pocket in the inner fender, but have wondered if the result was worth the effort. Mine is an '86 and is bass-ackward. The "garbage can" air cleaner is on the right side. There is a nice void from the high pressure area just in front of the radiator that could be ducted to the garbage can with a little clever sheet metal fabrication (or plastic).

6 weeks ago, my car was carburated. That is why my battery is on the passenger side. I was going to buy the SLP Cold air intake, but didn't have $200 and didn't want to relocate the batter. When I first did the TPI swap, I had nothing, so I taped a round filter directly to the throttle body and went to the track. Then a few weeks later, I built this cold air intake using a stock '88 firebird elbow (turned upsidedown to point left) and 3" exhaust with a 45* bend in it. I then purchased a cone filter w/ a 3" end and sealed it off from the engine bay. With engine temp a 210*, my intake air was reading 66*, so I know its sealed off pretty well (I relocated the IAT sensor also)

Then it was off to the track, and I gained a very consistant .2 because of it. I say consistant because with the old setup, when the engine was hot, I ran slower, but when the fans kicked on and the engine cooled, I sped up. Now I am consistant, on top of gaining .2 So it works VERY WELL and am very pleased with it.
