what cam for my mods?

ok i have taken my 350 apart and i am looking to juice it up more. it is bored 30 over will be getting headers and new exhaust, probably turn downs, i pulled everything out, except the rods, pistons, and crank(bottom half rebuilt recently). i am going to put 202 fuelie heads and change the TPI inttake, already have a 52mm TB might go to a 58, going to try to do the siamese runners or just polish them up a bit, something will be done there, not i want to know what would be a good cam, i am looking for performance but i dont want to shell out an **** load of cash like for a ls1 cam. what woudl be a good choice? also what lifters and springs should i go with??
i am just trying to beat an 11.97 ET(my buddies mustang needs to die)

If htis is the same motor you're asking questions about, then those old "fuelie" heads aren't going to do you any good. The ones you already have, have roughly the same flow potential as those. Plus, the old heads might or might not have the bolt holes on the ends that will allow you to keep minor accesory things like .... an alternator.

If you seriously want to hit 11.97 with a TPI car, proceed directly to nitrous, and build the motor for that. There's no way in hell you're going to get a long-tube-runner car to run that fast any other way except with a blower, and/or get it down to 2400 lbs or so. That's just fantasy land. A bunch of turn downs isn't going to produce enough hundreds of extra horsepower to go that fast.

A LS1 cam won't fit your motor. Don't worry about it.

A good cam for a TPI 350 is the Comp "304" grind. Anything bigger and you'll need major chip work to get it to run right. Use your stock lifters and the springs Comp recommends for use with that cam.

now the heads my buddy has are brand new and have been worked, port, polished, stainless steel valve, and i plan to get them milled, with all that dont to them they still arent as good as stock heads?

You wanna go 11's with those heads? I'd suggest you pull the TPI off the car and convert it to carb. It'll make everything much easier and less expensive.

Someone I know had a 350 with 'fuelie' heads, Lunati Bracket Master II cam: 284/284 adv duration, 218/218@050, .458/.458 lift, 110ls, Edelbrock RPM intake, 600cfm Edelcrap carb (straight outta the box), 1 5/8" headers, STOCK torque converter, 4.10 gears, all in a heavy '79 camaro. The car went 13.30's in 90 degree weather! This guy never even put a timing light on this motor... I could only imagine what this car would do with better carb, tuning, more converter, sticky tires, and a 150 shot. I'm SURE it woulda cracked 11's. This thing was a great street sleeper. With its 8.x:1 compression it idled like a half-dead boat motor and when you popped the hood to see a 600cfm Edelbrock nobody thought it could be fast until they saw its tail lights.

they would be ok if you port them out real well..... but i would just jump ahead to some aftermarket heads altogether if i wanted to get in the 11s.

and either ditch the TPI, or change the intake at the very least.

like he said, you arnt going to get in the 11s with a stock style long runner intake...
